Photoshoot Timing Guide
What is the Best Time to Schedule Your Shoot in Paradise?
The time of your shoot determines the look of your photos, the colors that would be shown, how the light interacts with you and your backdrop, your comfort and also the how crowded a location can get. Here we have a simple guide to help you with choosing the right time for your desired photo outcome

Crowds and Comfort
Timing isn’t just about lighting it’s also about peace of mind.
Early morning shoots offer the quietest moments, perfect for romantic or intimate sessions like proposals without distractions.
Midday and golden hour are popular among tourists, so beaches and landmarks can get busy.
Comfort also plays a major role in deciding what time to shoot. Early morning is cooler and more pleasant, while afternoon sun can be intense, especially for children or formal outfits. But evening, he intensity of the heat fades and it gets cooler as the sun goes down.

Color and Light
The quality of light transforms your entire shoot. For the best lighting we typically recommend early morning from 7am - 9am and late afternoon from 3pm into sunset. Shooting between10am and 2pm, can lead to some harsher lighting conditions which may not as appealing for photos unless it's a cloudy day. That being said, a midday shoot creates punchy contrast and vibrancy so it must be planned for correctly.
Understanding how light behaves helps us schedule shoots that align with your preferred mood, location, and color palette.

Location
Some locations shine brightest at certain times of day.
Most hotels on the island are on the west coast or western side of the island. In the morning on the west, you get beautiful blue hues in sea and sky on a morning and awesome side light with oranges reds and purples in the sky on and evening. With the east being the opposite and sunrises instead.
Waterfalls and rainforest trails are best shot mid-morning when the light filters through leaves.
Choosing the right time ensures the location complements your shoot, your vision.
